Azerbaijan elected to the UNWTO Executive Council

At the 71st session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Europe Regional Commission, held in Baku on 5–6 June, Azerbaijan was elected to the UNWTO Executive Council for the 2025–2029 term.

Among nine candidates competing for the five seats allocated to the Europe Regional Commission’s Executive Council, Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Greece and Slovenia were nominated to the Executive Council for the period 2025-2029.

Azerbaijan previously served on the Executive Council for the periods 2013–2017, 2017–2021 and 2023–2025, and held the Council Chairmanship in 2017.

At the conclusion of the meeting, delegates agreed that the 72nd session of the Europe Regional Commission will be held in Malta.
