e Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) has presented the country’s tourism potential for the first time at the Indonesia Travel Expo 2026 (ITE), which opened on 6 April in Jakarta, Indonesia.
As part of the exhibition Azerbaijan was promoted as an attractive travel destination for the Indonesian market during a series of B2B meetings. Participants were provided with detailed information on the country’s latest tourism products and services.
The event also served as a platform to establish connections with local travel agencies, expand partnerships and explore new business opportunities.
Participation in the exhibition played an important role in promoting Azerbaijan as an “Umrah Plus” destination in the Indonesian market. In this context, the country’s rich Islamic heritage, historic mosques, cultural attractions, halal food offerings, natural landscapes and modern tourism infrastructure were highlighted.
The exhibition will continue on 9 April in Surabaya.
At the same time promotional activities carried out across Southeast Asia also extend to the Malaysian market. In this regard, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board organised a webinar for nearly 20 leading Malaysian travel agencies specialising in Umrah travel, presenting Azerbaijan as an “Umrah Plus” destination.
