Cross-country relations
The agreements and contracts were signed with interstate and international organizations in order to develop the contract-legal base in various directions with the countries where cooperation is carried out in the field of tourism. In the field of tourism from 1992 to the present day 31 Agreements, 12 Memorandums of Understanding, 2 Cooperation Programs in the field of tourism for 2020-2022 were signed. A program of actions related to the implementation of the mentioned documents was prepared and approved, meetings with the other parties were organized and prospects of cooperation were discussed, as well as cooperation measures were started to be implemented based on the provisions and conditions of the signed documents.
United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
In addition to being a leading international organization in the field of tourism, it is an organization responsible for economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability in this area and promoting tourism.
Fuad Nagiyev, the chairman of the State Tourism Agency speaking at the 109th session of the Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), reminded that the next meeting will be held in Baku.
Baku hosted the 110th session of the Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organization held on June 17-18, 2019.
At the 113th session of the Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organization, which was held on January 18-19, 2021 in Madrid, the Kingdom of Spain, our country was represented by a delegation led by the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Nagiyev.
Mr. Fuad Nagiyev, the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, participated in the 24th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which was held in Madrid, Spain, on November 30 - December 3, 2021.
The Organization of Turkic States
It is an organization that works to expand cooperation in the field of tourism between Turkic-speaking countries and raise awareness of the historical and cultural significance of the Silk Road in the region and member states.
On August 7, 2018, the representatives of the State Tourism Agency participated in the "13th meeting of the working group on tourism" in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Mr. Fuad Nagiyev, the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, participated in the 6th meeting of tourism ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (TCSC), held on June 23-24, 2021 in Kokand, Uzbekistan.
On May 23-24, 2022, the 7th meeting of the Tourism Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States and the 17th meeting of the Working Group on Tourism were held in the city of Shamakhi.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
The representatives of the State Tourism Agency participated in the 13th meeting of the Tourism Working Group of the OIC Standing Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation held on February 13, 2019 in Ankara, Republic of Turkey.
On November 26, 2020, Fuad Naghiyev, the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, spoke at the 36th session of the Standing Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held online.
On June 26-29, 2022, the 11th Conference of Tourism Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held in Baku under the organization of the State Tourism Agency.
In addition, within the framework of joint activities between the State Tourism Agency and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (CSEO) and the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), there are cooperative relations in order to determine the main directions of regional development in the field of tourism, as well as to develop bilateral and multilateral tourism relations.
