On July 13, a meeting was convened between the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Fuad Naghiyev, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mohammad Al-Blushi to discuss the current and future development prospects of tourism relations between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the session, both parties engaged in discussions regarding the expansion of collaboration in the realm of tourism, the positive impact of the visa-free regime recently established between the two countries. Additionally, the investment opportunities available to UAE companies in Azerbaijan's tourism sector were discussed during the meeting.
It is worth highlighting that the number of citizens visiting Azerbaijan from the United Arab Emirates in the first half of 2023 has seen a substantial increase, amounting to 18,884 visitors. This represents a 23 percent growth compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
Currently, there are direct flights connecting Azerbaijan with Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi, with a total of 50 flights each week.
